Chilli Paneer Recipe
One of the popular Indo Chinese recipe which adds great taste is the chilli paneer .This chilli paneer can be served as the starter, lunch or dinner. This chilli paneer recipe have a great spicy, sweet, tangy, sour taste and can be prepared very quickly. I have prepared this chilli paneer recipe with no onion and garlic as it is purely vegetarian recipe.

What is chilli paneer ?
Chilli paneer is one of the most popular vegetarian dish like chilli chicken. In this recipe, the paneer cubes are dipped in the batter and fried. Then a sauce is prepared , where the fried paneer is dipped into it to make the gravy and its taste becomes delicious.
We often find that these chilli paneer recipe is served in restaurant or in the home in different ways:-
1) Firstly, the chilli paneer recipe is served as the
starter dish in restaurant.
2) Secondly, the gravy which is prepared with chilli paneer
is mostly consumed with steam rice, fried rice or noodles.
3) The chilli paneer can also be served with roti or
naan. It is a very authentic and popular dish of the restaurant and are very
famous for its taste and flavor.
Procedure to make chilli panner
Step1) Preparation of chilli paneer:- Firstly, in a bowl take 3 tablespoon of cornflour or cornstarch and 4 tablespoon of all purpose flour or maida and mix it. Then add ¼ teaspoon of black pepper powder and salt as per requirement. Now add water as requirement and stir it completely with whisk or spoon very smoothly to avoid lumps.
Step2) Preparation of the paneer:- Then on a plate take the paneer bar and wash it off. Then cut the paneer into small cubes. Put the paneer blocks in the bowl of batter and gently coat the paneer with the batter with the help of spoon.
Step3) Frying the paneer:- Take a frying pan, add 4 tablespoon of white oil and heat the oil. Then place the paneer cube wrapped in the batter and fry it lightly until it becomes a little brownish in colour.
Step4) Placing the paneer on a paper:- Then fry the paneer cubes until it becomes crispy and golden. Place the fried paneer cube on a paper towel so that the excess oil is absorbed on it.

Expert tips
1) Paneer-While making the chilli paneer recipe, use the
homemade paneer. If the paneer is frozen,then for few minutes soak the paneer in
hot water and make it completely dry before pouring it into the batter.
2) Flour-In order to make the batter, you can use rice flour instead of all purpose flour.In place of cornstarch you can use arrowroot flour or potato starch.
3) Frying-While frying the paneer do not fry it too much,as the paneer will become more harder and stiff.So fry it very light.
4) Consistency- Do not add more water to the gravy, as you will loose the thicker consistency and flavor.
5) Bell-pepper- As this chilli paneer recipe is without onion and garlic, so for better taste you can add yellow and red bell-pepper along with the capsicum which adds more taste and gives a colourful look.
6) Spicing-You can add soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato
sauce, black pepper, sugar, salt as per your liking and taste.
Ingredients
For battar
1) 3 tablespoon of cornflour
2) 4 tablespoon of all purpose flour
3) ¼ teaspoon of black pepper powder
4) Salt as required
5) Water as required
For frying paneer
1) 4 tablepoon of white oil
2) 300gm of paneer cut in cube block
3) For chilli paneer gravy or sauce.
1) Green chilli as required.
2) 2 teaspoon of ginger.
3) 1 cup of finely chopped capsicum.
4) 2 teaspoon of soy sauce
5)1/2 cup of finely chopped tomatoes.
6) 1 teaspoon of red chilli sauce.
7) ½ teaspoon of vinegar
8) 1 tablespoon of cornstarch

Can I use tofu instead of paneer ?
Yes, absolutely you can use tofu instead of paneer. But, according to me , paneer adds greater taste than tofu.
How can I serve dry chilli paneer recipe ?
While making the chilli paneer , if you dry it more than usual then you can have it as snacks during evening. You can also wrap this dry chilli paneer in a roll and have it as chilli paneer roll.
What will I use instead of cornflour for this recipe ?
You can use potato starch or arrowroot flour instead of cornflour or this chilli paneer recipe.
